steering problem

Postby ADRIAN8049 on Sat Oct 22, 2011 9:28 am

i, i have a bmw e36 convertible. iive only just brought the car and have experience when driving and hitting a bump or the camber in the road is abit harsh the steering tends to wayward and i have to hold the steering wheel hard tho keep it from drifting. is this a problem or is it due to having sports suspension?

Hi,
first check all the obvious things yourself - tyre pressures, tyre condition, tyre compatibility, wheel alignment, etc.
If all ok on the above get further checks done on the steering geometry, condition of suspension springs, shocks and bushes.
There is a very good chance that one or a few of the above will cause your car to feel loose or vague on the road.
