Temp Gauge/Fuel Gauge Not Working

Postby Jonnycash22 on Thu Aug 05, 2010 8:39 pm

Hello everyone, I have a 1996 BMW 328is. My car had been idle for a few months, until the other day. I got it running after a roadside service guy came and jump-started it. He recommended I drive it for an hour so that it could recharge. However, he said that it would only recharge 40-50%, so I'd then have to take it to a garage to get it fully charged. When I was driving my car that day everything was ok. I parked the car overnight and then the next day when I went to drive it, the fuel guage/temp gauge were not working. The onboard computer also said that my brake light circuit was not working. I figured maybe it wass a batterry issue so I took it to a garage and got it recharged. However, the temp gauge/fuel gauge/brake light circuit problem still existed. What is the problem? Any thoughts?
