trunk wont unlock,even with key

hi guys
i cant unlock my 325i's trunk,not even with the keys.i can hear the central locking motor in the boot unlocking, but the boot stays locked.desperately need your help.thanks

Did you ever get into an accident involving a rear end collision?

Grab a torch, screw driver then fold the seats down and climb into the boot.
From memory a flat head to pop the clips and a Philips head for the two screws in the grab spot.
Undo the lower carpet and pull it away.
Have a look if the linkage has popped out of the locking actuator.

thanks for you replies,but i did get the trunk open with the key after all.a bloody loose nut got stuck in the lock.
