Water under the carpet driverseat

Postby DaanNL on Wed May 20, 2009 12:18 pm

Hello guys,

I have a problem and I hope someone can help me.

I have a 318is from '97 (e36) that has got a leakage around the driver seat.
First i thought it was the rear left seat becouse the water was building up there.
The floor on the back is lower...

Anyway, i am trying to locate the source of the leakage but without success.
Does anyone have a suggestion or tip how to handle this problem?
I tried to remove the carpet but the gaspedal is giving me problems.... it is fixed to the floor and i don't know how to losen it. (i found out, using an other forum http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=353811)

But still no idea where the water is comming from....

Thank you!

If you stick your hand up under the dash and get under the carpet from up there, is it still wet? Try as close to the centre as you can.

Thanks for the idea, but i found out that the water problem has nothing tot do with anything under the carpet... The problem comes from a bad placed front window. The silicone layer was not good enough, so the water went by the interior cover that is on the left of the window to the dashboard. To bad I broke my front window in the process and my airbag light is on now all the time.... AAHhhh
