OK so, my car always had a tick(not literally) first I was driving during summer. All the sudden my car just dies, the ac is on. So I turn it on and bam, it did it a again so I pin point it to the ac, and I simply just don't use it. Fast forward a couple months later and I start hearing a whine every time I start my car. I think it's just the car and wonder if it always sounded like that and I never noticed it. Now about 3 months ago the car starts running very bad and the idle lopes once and a while. So I change the plugs, it kicks out a a$$ load of oil out the tail pipe. Then it after a while the idle always lopes, and it's always throwing up a check engine light. I have done a few engine swaps in my time and I've learned to ignore that light because of it. I thought it was the O2 sensor. I was driving home and my car just died. I check the motronic by pressing the pedal and all that and it came up as a lamba control issue. Long story short I cleaned the Idle speed control valve and while doing so I noticed the Crankcase vent valve to vale cover hose was broken in three places. so I replaced it.I checked the engine code and now it comes up as a 1444, code that means everything's ok It still won't start but it crank like hell. I let it sit for awhile and I tried and it started for one second. could it be my fuel gauge is messed up or my fuel filter/pump is toast? Would it show a code?
My brother's car had a problem with the fuel pump before. We made a simple diagnosis for that by removing the rear seat (lower part only which should popup pretty easy). After you remove the seat, you'll have to remove 3 screws (If I recall correctly) to uncover the fuel pump. After that, let someone try to start the car and while he's doing that, try to hit the fuel bump cover (the one that has the hoses coming in/out of it) with a wrench (just don't hit it hard). This way, if the fuel pump is stuck for some reason, it may work again. If that doesn't work, you may consider removing the fuel bump and try to connect it to your battery to see if it's working correctly or not.
