AC automatic

Postby jpsilence on Tue Mar 09, 2010 3:27 pm

Hi fellows,

in my 316i from 1995 i have a manual AC independent, which means i can have hot air in driver seat and cold air in the passenger side at the same time.

I'd like to have the automatic control unit, because it has only buttons and is nicer.
I heard it isn't plug & play, but i don't know what do i need to change in order to have it working 100% if i change it.

Is someone able to help me?

Thanks

I'm sorry, I don't have the answer for that because I didn't try it myself, but I heard that it's going to be a big job, not something straight forward. May be someone who has tried that before could give you some details. Good luck and if you started working on it, it'd be great if you could post the details about this conversion here.
best regards,
Tony Sticks

I cannot start unless i know what i need to make the mod.
I think it would be a great conversion, but i cannot do it only with the AC auto module.

I might need some other things, just don't know what.

If there was a scheme like for the OBC, with the things we need (not only the wiring), would be perfect! Do u think that someone has ever done it ?

An automatic air conditioning system for an automotive vehicle can operate in vent mode, bi-level mode or heater mode, the automatic selection of which is adjusted on the basis of air conditioning-influencing external conditions.
