The driving you do and the way you drive could explain the bad fuel economy I average about 8.2km/l (24.59mpg) around town and last trip I did I got 13km/l (37.9mpg) only about 40K's of that was city driving the rest 100-110kph (speed limit is 100k in new zealand) thats from a 323 (2.5l) I was really happy with the trip economy like Richard Hammond said on top gear the bigest waste of fuel is the brake peddle so drive smoother and use the engine braking it can make a big difference in fuel use without adding anymore than a couple of minutes to a long trip
