convertible roof query!

Hi all,
I'm new to this site and a new bmw owner!
I've recently purchased a bmw 328i convertible (N reg) which needs alot of tlc. It was an impulse buy as the previous owner needed a quick sale and is very differnt from my last car (rover 214)! The first (of many) problems i am looking to address is the roof, I am looking to replace it and there is one at a local breakers. However, the car it is coming from is a 325 with a manual roof whereas mine is automatic. Does anyone know if this roof will fit mine and if the new one can be modified to work automatically??
