DIY Heat shield for your air filter

Postby Guetzer on Mon Apr 06, 2009 5:30 pm

Just some pics of my DIY heat shield, i made it out of 2 side panels of a PC case.

Cutting up the panel:

"U" shaped rubber around the sharp edges.

Well, regardless of what everybody else thinks, I kind of like the blue glow. It does look a little out-of-place with the rest of the engine looking so stock, but it doesn't look bad.

Did you notice much of a difference performance wise, just curios?

Hey man. thnx for the comments...

sorry thats all the pics i have, didn't really think i would make a DIY out of this.. just did it for fun and took some pics while i was working on it.. just get 2 panels of sheet metal or any old pc case would work fine, then measure the curves of the inside wheel arch and alternator. then just start by cutting and fitting, tail and error is all that will work to get the best result.

it sure seems to keep the heat away from the air filter (which is always a good thing) .. and depending on the weather there is a slight increase in power..

if u decide to make one, remember to post some pics :P
