Paint faded and lacquer peeled

Postby Aaron3161997 on Sun Sep 18, 2011 3:26 pm

Hi guys, bought a bmw 316 in the worst colour for paint, red. got a few parts where the lacquer has peeled and general fading all over that i am hoping a mop and cutting compound will bring back. anyone got any advise on the lacquer issue though?

i had to have mine painted !!as the laquer forms a cover for the paint so you will not be able to cut it

You could try giving it a cut and polish you may get lucky and a good quality polish may make it look a little better but as Haggis says a repaint will prob be all you can do. try cutting right down through the laquer but that would be a hard job and the chances of success slim.
