Polyurethane control arm bushings

Postby jitsjaf2009 on Fri Apr 19, 2013 3:09 pm

I want to replace my Front Lower Control Arm (rear) with polyurethane bushings. I have the two "lollypop" brackets, but can't seem to find polyurethane bushings for them. I replaced them with new rubber bushings when I first got this 1995 e36 vert. but CA 3rd world highway system has already destroyed the. I am amazed none of the other suspension or steering has suffered. I did replace the shocks and struts about 5K miles ago when I went to 225-45-18 wheels and tires...look nice but haven't decided its any improvement. My friend got them for me so they are on it. I would include pictures if I knew how!!! Thanks, Jim

Perhaps I am talking about Polypropylene??? I know I have seen several posters mention using 'poly' bushings versus the rubber for handling upgrade, improvement. Thanks...jim

Never found the 'poly' bushings until after I replaced them with a good brand of solid ones. Handling has improved greatly...and hopefully I will never have to do it again. Between the suspension work, shocks and struts, I am good to go for awhile.
