BMW E36 Engine Size . . . Poll

BMW E36 Engine Size . . . Poll

As you may have guessed, it’s time for a new poll on the BMW E36 Blog. About the last poll that we had, it was about creating a new BMW E36 Forum on this website. The results for that poll were like this:

Poll 6 Results

Obviously, a lot have thought that creating a new forum was a very good idea in order to make one that is devoted to BMW E36 cars only. 95 out of 118 agreed to this idea which is a very high percentage (about 80%). So, I’ve created the forum and told you about it earlier. For those who didn’t sign up for that forum yet, I suggest that you go ahead and give it a try. I’m sure you’re going to like it very much.

Visit the BMW E36 Forum

The forum is doing very well taking into consideration its young age, but it can do much better (I presume) than that with your contributions, so, please feel free to post any content that you think other BMW E36 owners may find useful.

Enough talking about the BMW E36 Forum. Now, for today’s poll. I’ve published the poll yesterday after I made the BMW E36 318IS Donuts post and didn’t talk about it, but it seems that 14 readers have already made their votes. The poll is about your car’s engine size. I know that there are a lot of readers with 1.8 litres and M3 engines, but I needed to know some exact numbers which may at the end give us an idea about the type of cars/engines that are being used by the drivers in this community. So, I hope that you make your votes if you haven’t already done so. You can find it as usual at the right sidebar.

BMW E36 Forum

I’ve published a post and a poll asking for your opinions about creating a new forum on this website that is devoted to the BMW E36 cars only. Since then, I’ve been watching the results and I saw that most of you think that it’s a very good idea. So, I decided sometime ago to start creating that forum and now it’s almost done. You can check the forum here:

BMW E36 Forum

Please feel free to register your account and start using it. I just want to let you know that I still need to:

1. Make some modifications to the forum’s header which I’m not happy with it yet. The orange bar that is covering the car should be moved down a little bit, but it seems to be harder than I thought.

2. Install some mods for the Phpbb3 forum which is going to make using the forum easier and more efficient.

3. Find moderators: I was hoping that some of you will come forward to become moderators on the forum because I’m not sure that it’s going to be a very easy task to do it alone. So, please register your account and shoot me an email. I’m having some people in my mind, but I will wait and see before starting to ask you by names :p

Please notice that the forum is just starting and I’ve updated the settings according to what I feel is right (I’m not an expert in the forums). So, if you think there’s something missing or something that needs to be modified, please feel free to let me know by adding a comment below.

Also, what do you think of the categories? Did I miss anything?

One last thing. I originally thought of the forum idea to allow you to ask questions freely and to solve an important problem that I’m having with the blog. That is, people are using the comment field under the blog posts to ask questions that are not related to the post subject. Starting from now, please post these questions in the forum, not the blog. Thanks for understanding.

Enjoy the forum

BMW E36 Forum

I have lots of things that I want to talk to you about so, lets start right away. First, I’ve noticed in the last couple days that the BMW E36 Blog is loading slower than normal. So, I contacted my host (hostmonster.com) in order to have them check if there’s a problem with my hosting server. They replied that the server is ok and working at normal speed and that it may be caused by my connection. I’ve noticed that my connection is a little bit slower these days than what it used to be (I must have forgotten to pay that bill :p LOL!). So, I decided to ask for your opinion? Are you feeling the BMW E36 Blog is slower than normal? I mean really slow to the degree that it’s annoying? or is it fast as normal and the problem is in my connection only?

Second, did you notice the 498 subscribers to the blog? I’m almost there to acheive the 500-subscriber mark which I have to admit is a target that I didn’t think it’s going to be accomplished, but here we are! We’re almost there! I just need 2 more subscribers to reach that. What do you think? Is that a great thing or what!!! Of course, I want to thank all of you for being loyal subscribers to my blog and I want to welcome my new subscribers as well. I hope you will enjoy the blog and find it useful.

Third, umm… okay I’ve noticed lately that there is a lot of questions being posted in the comments section which sometimes are not related in anyway to the post content. and this is normal because if the visitors of the blog have questions that need answering, they have no other way to post their questions except as a comment. I totally understand that, but from a logical point of view, it would be better if these questions were put in a separate location, so I started to think about creating a BMW E36 only forum. Of course, I’m aware of the fact that there is a lot of forums about BMW cars including the E36 model. But, I think that having a website like this one which deals with BMW E36 cars only is a very good idea. So, as you can see, I’m a little bit lost and I couldn’t take that decision alone. So, I decided to go ahead and ask you. What do you think of this idea, having a BMW E36 forum hosted on the BMW E36 blog? Of course, you’re welcome to share your thoughts below. But, please use the right sidebar poll to vote for the idea.

About our previous poll, the results are:

Poll 5 Result

Poll 5 Result

So, according to this poll, I guess there’s a lot of people here who need to upgrade their headlights 😀 . I will try to concentrate a little bit on this issue in the future.

Finally, please take a look at the poll on the right sidebar and let us hear your opinions. Have fun!
